TRICONEX 9300, also known as Tricon, is a Safety Instrumented System (SIS) from Schneider Electric. This system is the gold standard in safety instrumented systems. It is based on the industry-leading Triconex triple modular redundant (TMR) technology. Tricon has logged more than one billion hours with no failure on demand.

The Tricon system has a certification from TÜV Rheinland for use in safety applications up to Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3). It also has marine and nuclear 1E certifications. The system offers online module replacement to ensure continuous operation and plant availability. It integrates with EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS and all major distributed control systems (DCSs). The system has a comprehensive family of I/O modules. It supports up to 254 nodes of peer-to-peer communications. The system has Achilles Level 1 cybersecurity certification.

The Tricon system has built-in diagnostics and redundancy management, which are transparent to the user. It offers easy diagnostics for status and fault analysis. The system allows online modifications and changes, online module replacement, and a hot spare slot for continuous production without halting operations. It comes with a full set of software tools for every stage of the safety life cycle (TriStation™ suite).

The Tricon system is suitable for safety and critical control applications. It is TÜV-certified for SIL 3 applications to international standard IEC61508:2010. The system is used for emergency shutdown (ESD), burner management system (BMS), and turbomachinery control and protection (TMC). It works in both centralized plus distributed and remote I/O applications. The system is suitable for use in harsh environments. It is used in industries such as refining and petrochemicals, upstream and midstream oil and gas, chemicals and specialty chemicals, power generation, and pharmaceuticals.
