WOODWARD 5501-429 2CH Actuator Controller Module

The WOODWARD 5501-429 is a 2CH Actuator Controller Module. It controls proportional or integrating, pneumatic or hydromechanical actuators. This model is a 25mA Version. Power requirements are +5 V @ 0.5 A, +24 V @ 1 A, and a max load resistance of 10/30 mA max.

One or two position feedback devices (LVDT, RVDT) can be used on each actuator channel. The module has several fault detection features, including alarms for errors related to excitation, feedback, and drivers. Position errors, logic power, microcontroller activity, and the CPU module are also monitored.

A red fault LED indicates the status of the unit and enables efficient troubleshooting. If the controller is not communicating with the CPU module, a solid LED will be visible. If the LED is flashing, it indicates an internal problem, and the module should be replaced.

The 5501-429 plugs into the motherboard when secured into a card guide in the control's chassis. Two handles, located at the bottom and top, allow for easy removal. The 5501-429 requires a MicroNet low-density discrete cable.

This module requires no calibration. NetCon and MultiNet actuators may be replaced with a like actuator without any module or software adjustment.
