The eddy current sensor, in conjunction with the signal converter CON, forms an oscillator circuit. The amplitude of oscillation is reduced by the presence of a metallic object in front of the sensor, and the amount of damping is directly related to the distance between the sensor and the object being measured. Our sensors and converters come fully calibrated, eliminating the need for any on-site adjustments. The only necessary adjustment is to the gap between the sensor and the object in order to achieve the desired signal at the converter output.
