HIMA F 8650X Central Module

The HIMA F 8650X is a central module that is used in safety-related Programmable Electronic Systems (PES)  such as the H51q-MS, -HS, and -HRS.  It is a safety-rated device that has been certified up to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 according to IEC 61508.

The F 8650X  uses two clock-synchronized Intel 386EX 32-bit microprocessors with a clock frequency of 25 MHz. It has 1 MB of Flash-EPROM for the operating system and user program, and 1 MB of SRAM for data.  The amount of usable memory may vary depending on the version of the operating system that is being used.

The F 8650X has two serial RS-485 interfaces with electrical isolation for communication with other devices. It also has a four-digit diagnostic display that can be used to view information about the status of the module.

The F 8650X includes a safety-related watchdog with a 24 V output that can be used to shut down the system in the event of a fault. The watchdog is self-monitoring and will reset the module if it detects a failure.

The F 8650X is a modular device that is mounted on a European standard rack. It requires 5 V of power at 2 A to operate.
